DREAM TEAMS: Sandra Fenwick | Boston Children’s Hospital

Based in Boston’s medical district with 20,000 employees, Boston Children’s Hospital is the foremost independent pediatric hospital in the U.S.

This week, Sandra Fenwick, CEO of BCH, sits down with us to discuss how the company’s focus on a simple, heartfelt mission statement acts as a guiding light for their talent. So far, it’s been extremely effective.

The hospital has been rated the leading center of pediatric care for six years in a row. For the chaotic, 24/7 health services industry, this is quite the accomplishment.

“I think the most important thing that we constantly talk about and that people believe in their soul is that patients are at the heart of everything we do,” says Fenwick, who also serves on the board of directors.

These employees believe it in their soul. Every department. You can feel it as you walk through the halls of the hospital.

What is at the heart of everything you do at your organization?
